car tire

Hello everyone, new to the forum just purchased a 2013 vulcan voyger and want to go darkside on it will a 185/55/16 work, I have put almost 100,000 miles on to goldwings and like car tire. TKS in advance

You won't know until you try it. I don't see why it wouldn't work.

It will work, BUT, the speedo will be off a lot. Use a 205/60/16. It is the same diameter as the stock tire,and it is what most 1700's run.

I would go with a slightly taller tire, maybe the 195/60/15 or the 205/60/16. I believe the 185/55/16 is going to be a little shorter, thus causing a misreading with the speedo, plus it will lower the rear of the bike. JMO

running a car tire on my voyager....im not sure the number because it was on there when i bought it. I dont know if i will put another on ....but i really cant tell any difference in the handling.

TKS everyone for the feed back, got the tire mounted today, I went with the 185/55 kumo because I wanted the bike a little lower.

When I installed my car tire it corrected the speedo error to within 2mph.

Mine's not a Voyager, but the stock tire is the same size. I'm on my second 205/60-16.
