While at the 2013 National in Estes Park...

While I was at the 2013 nationals in Estes Park we had heavy rains on that Monday in Iowa followed by strong winds. My neighbors tree decided to drop a huge branch on my car.... ended up totaling it! A couple of hours later because of the heavy rains my sewer system could not keep up with the water being pumped by the sump pump. The water backed up and spilled through the tub and stool which made it rain in the basement. The good thing was it was raining on the unfinished side of the basement, bad thing that's where most of my wife's stuff is stored. She was home alone to deal with all this while I was out having fun

Have come up with a different plan so hopefully it wont rain in the basement again and have a different ride in the driveway

I'd say it might have been worth it to up grade from a Crown Vic Police car to a Volvo!

Sorry to hear about the car... and the fact your wife had to deal with it. She must be a "keeper"!

Sorry to hear that but I know just how you feel. A while ago I got rear ended in my truck on a monday, just got the adjuster out to the house to see the truck and made an appointment at the body shop. On the Friday of the same week a 100 year old maple tree fell and took out the other end of my truck and the roof and 2 walls of my garage.
In pouring rain my neighbour and I cut away enough tree branches and limbs to get the truck out from under it so I could get the Nomad and 2 snowmobiles out of the garage in case it completely collapsed.
Three claims to the insurance in one week!

My motto these days is "And it too shall get fixed".

Thanks guys. James is right went from the 2007 Interceptor with 78,000miles to 1999 Volvo with 167,000miles. The Volvo seems to have been so far ahead of its time with the technology that it has. I had to pull out the owners manual to understand how to operate some of the stuff! Love the fact that its front wheel drive too since the interceptor had to much motor for the rear wheel drive in the snow. It was fun doing donuts with it though!
It was a good thing the wife didn't go with me otherwise we would have both come home to the surprise! You are right Greg, she is a keeper! She was ready for me to sale the house and us move into an apartment when I did get the call in Colorado. I assured her right then and there that as soon as I got back we would put the house on the market. Well,it has been almost 4 months and that has not happened yet!
Norm, what can I say?your story takes the cake!sorry to hear all you had to go through!Hope things have calmed down. I am just grateful the tree from my end just took out the car and not the house because a few years ago that same tree dropped a branch on my house that shook the house.
The joys of owning stuff!!
