5 speed to a 6 speed

Hey guys,i was at the kawasaki dealer a years ago,and the parts guy said thay could put aother gear and my transmission to go from a 5 speed to a 6 speed on my 1999 nomad,has another done this yet.

The cases on the 1700 are wider to accomadate the extra gear.

You can't out 10 gallons of Dealer Shit in a five gallon bucket.

I've heard some say you can convert the old 4 speeds to 5 but thats impossible also.

He's probably referring to trading your '99 up to a 2013 Nomad or a Vaquero.

OK your all right i just called kawasaki and right no room in the case but a can replace the transmission to a 6 speed newer transmission.sorry guys,

The transmission in these engines is not a separate unit, like it is on a Harley. If you want a 6 speed, you're going to have to buy a 1700 I'm afraid.

I put a Chrysler Turbo Encabulator in my 2008 Nomad! Sure got great MPGs.
