Voyager Brake Pedal

The Voyager's engine guard bars are much farther forward than on the Nomad. That said, I was still able to make my Longhorn Dually's work, but just barely. The left side is fine, but on the right, the brake pedal gets just a tad bit in the way of being totally comfortable...something you can see in the pics. I do 75% of my riding with my heal on the board and my toes on the peg, so moving the brake pedal forward an inch would be huge. I could live with it if I have to, but will change it if I don't.

Can anyone recommend a longer brake pedal that works well on the Voyager? I know many on the Nomad did just that....

Well...its a long story....but I qualified for the Little League World Series by grading out high enough at the 2009 Western Regional in San Bernardino, CA. During the 2010 season, I was diagnosed with a small melanoma tumor in my right eye. Subsequent surgery and treatment resulted in a substantial loss of the central vision in my right eye. My peripheral vision is fine (makes riding easier) and the tumor is in remission...so all is good on that front for now. But...it's hard to call the outside corner when you can't SEE the outside corner.... Some have said bad eyesight is a prerequisite for umpiring...lol...but with such a diminished awareness, I really had no choice but to retire from active umpiring.

I had a great run though....I worked the Washington State Championship game four times...all three bases and the plate for the 2008 'Ship. I have no regets as those fifteen years I umpired was some of the most fun I have ever had in my life. The Western Regional is going on right now with temps around 105 degrees...!! It was only in the '90's when I was there...a cooling trend they called it then..... The best part was that I strapped all my gear on my Nomad and rode it to Southern Cal and back....making for a thoroughly enjoyable 21 days.....

Maybe you could move the floorboards out a bit like you can on the 1500/1600s.

On the Voyager I test rode, the dealer cut the pedal down, may be an inch or more off it. It made it easier to get my foot around it on and off the board, but it felt a little odd. It reminded me of the brake pedal on the 800.

chucksters customs lengthened mine about 2 1/2 inches. Now I can actually put my size 13 on the floorboard, not sideways because of the stupid brake pedal

There is a pic of mine about 5 posts down on this thread

http://www.vulcanforums.com/forums/s...ht=brake+pedal

I'm pretty sure he still has the dimensions

Looks nice. That's basically what the Scootworks/Drifter pedals do. Instead of moving the pedal up (so you have to move your entire leg to hit the brakes...bad idea), it moves it forward so you just have to lift your foot a bit. Much better solution, imho.

See if you can cut it near the end were the rubber pad is, and add an extension piece.
the weld should barely be noticeable there.

Where I section it and weld in the extra piece, you never even knew it was done after the rechrome.

This is how it ended up looking after I finished cutting the plate and shaping the rubber. I used a little rattle-can truck bed liner on the end of the pedal where I cut it and a small little piece of chrome strip to hide the end of the cut plate....came out not too bad if I do say so myself.....

Post a pic of what just the brake lever arm looks like without the pad on it. I pretty sure I have an easier solution than either one of those.

His looks powder coated black, so nothing bad will happen there, depending on how he did it.
