any "flash" drive model should be fine. Just do not get a large GB that uses a hard drive, it will skip and stop working. I know this from first hand experience.

I have the 8gb on mine, lots of room for music, and you can also use it for wifi at stops to check email etc. bluetooth so it hooks right up to my Sena headset and good to go.

Just an FYI per Kawasakis website:

Note: Battery charging is not supported for 3rd generation (touch wheel) iPods with

this adaptor

Note: Audio devices with Hard Drive storage are not recommended due to possible

effects from road vibration.

iPhone music player mode is not recognized as suitable for playing music on this OE radio system.

element80, had a pretty cool thing going if it worked out like he hoped. He got the standard headphone style plug accessory, and plugged a bluetooth adapter into that. With his set up, he can use his iPhone to play the music wireless to the bike, or to his bluetooth helmet headset.

Except for not having the controls on the bars, it sounds ideal. Handlebar mount for the iPhone could even fix that.

I think the only drawback it had was the bluetooth adapter uses a batery, and may require some maintenance to that. But I've been told, problems are really just opportunities. So I say hardwire the bluetooth adapter.

I use a 4gb 2nd generation Nano, its worked great. It holds 950 songs. my new stereo has a tray where the ipod fits right inside the radio, I should have it installed later this week.

You should be able to use any USB drive, too. (I don't know which stereo you got but there aren't that many out there with the iPod tray and they're all about the same.) My stereo has a USB cord and I think (with the right adapter, of course) could use an iPod. No need as USB is much easier and more compact. (I actually use microSD cards with a USB adapter. I can fit all 902+ gb of music in a pants pocket.)

Bingo! Exactly! I got myself an iPod Touch (to function as a "smart phone" when in motels, etc. with wi-fi) and it is working great. A standard iPod, with disk drive, kept locking up due to road vibration.

So, is that just a disclaimer, or will the iPhone not work with the Kawa connector kit?

I want a Vaquero and would get their iPod connector kit, but if I can't use the phone as my music player, then doesn't do me any good to get the kit.

That's how I interpret it. I'm kind of in the same situation.

- Actually, I would prefer to have my XM on the bike, but not interested in the price of that add on. Still exploring my options

Could you try one out at the Kawa dealership and let us know?

The Garmin 665 comes with XM, IIRC. More than the XM by itself, but it has a lot more than just XM.

The I phone 4s works great on the Voyager, we listen to Pandora (internet radio) all the time and it shows up on the screen title and artist.
I have since added and 12v acc. plug in the compartment and purchased the std. single line cable for like using a mp3, so I can plug my Droid X in and charge it to while listening to Pandora or just songs stored on my sd card.
