Gas Tank Cover Rattle

Found a new way to stop that rattle.
Went to Wal-mart and bought a roll of Black Door Trim (also comes in chrome) for $9--. Pulled the cover, cut and added trim, reattached cover.
SEE PICTURES. The advantage when you pull the cover the trim is still there when you reattached the cover.
Be aware Trim contains sticky glue!

I did the same thing to my voyager about a week ago. It seems to work pretty good. I used a clear door trim from advanced auto.

sounds like a good idea. I got my voyager a few days ago and found that rattle pretty quick, however the person that had it before me stripped the head of one of the screws and i cant get one loose..... Grrrrrrrr

Grind a slot in the screw and use a flat screwdriver to remove it, then replace with a new one.

Another source of rattle/squeak/buzz is between the tank bib and the ignition switch insert. A shot of chain lube between the 2 quiets that down.

I removed the ignition switch insert to cure the rattle.

I am with you on that one.Another source of rattle is if you leave your keys in the ignition when you are riding.Any keys on the key ring tend to rattle on the tin bib when you do any part throttle acceleration.I spent three days trying to find out why my motor was pinging under part throttle with no Ignition advance other then stock.Ended up it was my keys rattling.Glad nobody noticed how stupid I looked figuring that one out. LOL
