The Yamaha Royal star line and the Honda ST1100/1300 both have a V4's and are very reliable. I know people with both and they're very satisfied

I loved the v-4 in my V-65 Magna back in the 80's.

The 750cc magna kept the same engine architecture till it was dropped a couple of years ago. Now the Interceptor still has it.

Redlined at 10,000 rpm's back in the early 80's.

Have had three V-4 all first gen Ventures 1200 & 1300 cc - all of them were spectacular engines. Very good power ( over 100 HP at rear wheel - shaft driven) got for what the weight of scooter was( 900 lbs plus) mileage - lowest averged 42 Mpg highest averaged 52 Mpg. More than 500,000 Km's between the three and never had a motor problem! Worn out a clutch - burned out a stator - one fuel pump - never had to pull a motor - tuend them up every 50,000Km and that was that!

I had an 83 Sabre. Black. Rode it cross country. What a sweet ride it was. Very powerful and smooth as silk. Totally different than a twin. Can't really compare.

I've owned two V-4's......a 1983 Honda V45 Magna from 1997 til 2001.....750cc's, smooth running, responsive....shaft drive. I sold it and bought a 1998 Honda Magna 750 and ran the dog out of that bike. It was nicknamed, "Asphalt Shreader". I took it all over the place although it wasn't really built or designed as a trip bike. It was chain drive, but had abnormally high power. Wish I could have kept it to zip around town on, but I sold it to help pay for the Nomad.

The 1983 V-4 was almost 20 years old, so the engine was somewhat dependable. The engine on the 1998 was bullet-proof. It ran like a scalded ape. Never had any problems with it at all.

To be honest...if Honda made a V-4 Magna that was 1500cc's or higher, with all the accessories and it was reasonably priced...........???

I would take over this site!!!!!!First Gold Wing, now V-4 big bore Magna, are you sure your happy with your bike? You sound like an chick who's always after her other friend's boyfriends!! Dump the Nomad and stay out of the kitchen...?? Grass is always greener on the other side.. Your only entitled to buy a bigger bore Nomad!! Period. Put them pamphlets down!! NOW!!

We'd have to change our motto to "Where riding a Magna means Trip's got a Vagagna"

If an 1100cc Magna had about 120 HP, what would a 1500cc one have?

Even the Sabre 750 has 82 HP! 6 spd... seems like it was ahead of it's time.

Almost bought a Venture before the Nomad......... the one at the stealer started hard and ran real rough... they told me it was because it was sitting for 6 mos..... the 4 carbs scared me off.... if they F I it????
