Finally Retired

I used to say that I was retired a couple of times every week since I had been tired previously the same week, and was tired again.

Well now it's official. Tomorow I turn in my plumbing truck.

Not like I won't be "working". . . First on my list is to get our home ready for market. Then the move to Phoenix where we will develop foreclosed properties for rentals and for up-sale. Meanwhile I will be taking "side calls" for folks who would like some help in areas of plumbing, heating, and remodel/real estate improvements.

Once in Phoenix I guess I'll have to get all the licenses and certifications all over again. "It's always someting". . . ;-)

Congratulations on the retirement. Always paperwork to get done when you move. Good luck with selling your house and finding another.

What you described is NOT retirement. It is called changing careers.

Retirement is what I do. Not working. Just going to bed when I want, Getting up when I want, and riding the motorcycle where and when I want.

As Fish says in the following post, he is retired but still working :-/ I don't get how you can call that retired.

I like what Joe Mondello, AKA Dr. Oldsmobile said about retirement: I'll have my retirement party and wake on the same day. Now that is a man that loved what he did. Retirement is for those that don't. He lived up to his words.

:-) :-) :-)
It's more like. . . get up when I want, go to sleep when I want, go for a ride when I want, drink beer when I want, and then fix properties when I get bored.

Our retirement plan is based on a 50% occupancy of rental properties. Not on our personal income. We will have a business license and I will get an Arizona Plumbing and Mechanical license so I don't get in trouble for helping others. Anyone that gets any work out of me (outside of tinkering on our own property) will probably be a relative, a friend or a neighbor.

So I still call that retired. :-) :-) :-)
