Edmonton Bike Show

Deb and I were at the bike show here in Edmonton and I thought I would post a few pics and observations.

No, this isn't me. Just a shot of the new Kawi. Loved this new red but after sitting on them all again, confirmed that the shortening of the frames in 2009 will prevent me from purchasing any new Kawis.

Norton now selling in Canada

Lots of trikes on display this year

Great display of vintage models, here's an early HD

Rotary Engine--see info pic below

.

Crowds were very good this year considering we've been stuck in a cool freeze for the past 2 weeks. A good 4' of snow now with steady temp. of -20

Nice pics, for some reason my eye always catches the classic look of the Indians, one of my favorites. I also like seeing the Royal Enfield, I think they are still being manufactured in India today, not a good reputation, but then they are still using a fifty year old design. I wonder if they are being sold in Canada again?
It looks like you got to see a lot of nice equipment.
Back in the 80's I got to work on a Wankle powered snowmobile, Arctic Cat as well as some other brands had them available in the sleds for a couple years in the mid 70's.

Ring - We have a Dealer here in Calgary that sells both the Indian and Royal Enfield ( it is a division of Southern Harley) The Indian's are priced way out to lunch but the enfield's are not that bad. I cannot comment of the quality of the Enfield's but they do look quite good.

Nice pics.
A guy my brother knows bought an Enfield. 500cc one lunger I think. I may be wrong on this, but I seem to remember him saying they were being built in India, or some such place. There is another bike that makes the bike show circuit that interests me. The Russian bike with side car, Ariel I think. both wheels in the rear are drive wheels.

Thanks Kevin, for the photos. I can't wait for the show to finally get here nxt. weekend. I plan on going opening day to shop for new leather chaps, a jacket, and a new helmet.
