Bag Liners

So when packing for a trip:
1. how many use the saddle bag liners and how many just stuff the bags loose.

2. Besides stuff falling out and pulling bags to go into motel, any big advantage to the liners.

3. Can you get as much in the liners as you can in the saddlebag without liners.

I use the liners and really like them. I can come close to getting just as much in the bags with the liner than without. However, I won't be chasing stuff as it falls out with the liners.

Here is the set that I have

I just looked at those and that's what sparked me to ask the question.

Bag Liners

I've taken several long-distance trips and I have almost the same liners as Waterman. For $50, they're worth it. Makes packing and unpacking a snap. You just have to be careful not to overpack the bags, or you'll find you can't get the door on the saddlebag shut. I'm about to buy a set for Ann's VN900.

1: yes, I use bagliners - after my Right saddlebag lid was replaced under Warranty it leaks and they have never fixed it. However, with the liners it is not a biggie.
2: I don't know - they are just handier. With the Quick knobs to remove saddlebags I just pop out the bagliner - twist the knobs a couple of turns and the bag is off. Easy peasy to clean rear wheel / access for servicing / tire removal etc.
3: yes, I would say you can. If you fill the liners to max, there is a slight more room left to stuff small things - I don't think you could keep everything in place with just the straps unless you had bag off and laying with lid up.

Bag Liners

Bag liners are nice to have. Don't have any now but the '83 Goldwing had them as standard equipment. Without bag liners you can pack a lot clothes and the straps keep them in pretty good. Other stuff though tends to tumble out. I would prefer a top opening saddlebag as you just drip stuff in. It can't fall out that way. Just wishing I guess.

I use the bag liners, wouldn't go on a trip without them, mine are from Kawasaki [expensive] they have little pockets on them great
for small items so you don't have to go through the bags to find them. I don't keep both of them in when local. [Easier to put the jacket in.]

I use the bag liners as well, and I love them. They make it easy to pack my stuff and keep it organized. Well worth the expense.

After a trip or 2 without liners then getting them, LINERS! 1 for him and 1 for her + a Nelson Rigg pack on the luggage rack. If it don't fit, it don't go.

I have a set. They are very handy if you use them as luggage. Whatever you do, if you buy a set, don't get them embroidered.
