princess/harbour freight bike lift

morning all,

I saw this in pricess's flyer - has anyone used it with the nomad? Would it work - or how much extra blocking would be required to make it safe/stable?

http://www.princessauto.com/garage/l...00-lb-atv-lift

Thanks
Brian

That looks very similar to my Canadian Tire bike lift, although its only good for a 1000 lbs. You can usually find them on sale for about $69.00 also. I don't think its a great buy unless you really need to lift 1500 lbs. But they have a great return policy if something should ever happen to it.
It should work pretty good ,with perhaps an Idaho lift adapter or a couple hockey pucks.

I have the Canadian Tire motorcycle jack that is usually $120. It sometimes goes on sale for $80 (or less) which is what I paid. It works great with the Idaho jack adapter that bolts to the chassis. The jack is very stable and raises and lowers smoothly.

Looks exactly like mine. Works great with the Idaho adapter.

I was going to mention using an Idaho Jack Adapter with it, but that seems to have already been covered.

Where do you get an Idaho Jack Adapter from? How much do they usually cost?

Nasty little typo that one was. 500 lbs, when you mean 1,500 lbs.

This link is a How To for the use of an Idaho Jack Adapter .

http://s290.photobucket.com/albums/l...d/2010_Spring/

I was just changing out ft fenders, since I wrecked mine, and doing a few other little things.

With a straight lift and no adapters you will need 2 squares of 3/8"- 10mm plywood 2" - 50 mm square and a side stand block apx 1 3/4"- 44mm tall. You need the side stand block no matter which method.

The adapters is stiffer and so less risks. I use both methods depending on what i want to do.

For the 2 blocks method these 2 blocks go under the frame lugs and the engine lug makes a 3 point lift.
