Block off plates??

Fall project and planning to remove reed valves/assembly per Gadjets instructions and install Chucksters plates. Is this still a recommended mod.? Realize times; fades and mods change..Heck; look at one of the " Mod Squad" series; if you dare!! Anyway just curious if any added info.. I needed before storing more motorcycle misc.. parts. Also going to do the incense /smoke check on header gaskets. Thanks in advance.

Yes it is! And are you going to do the chuckster Air filter mod also? Also, highly suggested!

Block off plates??

It tidies up the top of the motor with all that useless plumbing that is there. I thought of removing it and making up some plates but so far I havn't done it.

These are called 'Coasters'. It won't do a thing preformance wise, but is a nicer cleaner look, and gets rid of weight, and lots of plumming. It reduces chances of vac leaks too, but you will either cap off the throttle body or plug th line to it. Either way that should be checked once a year, and or the cap replaced with a new cap once a year.

Chucksters coasters come with the right bolts sizes and are chromed too. The coasters can be polished and clear coated or painted.

Working with the ft coasters un-do the reed valve box bolts leaving them in the box to lift the box away.

Also the engine breather hose runs side by side to the reed valve hose so make sure you don't disturb the engine breather, or set it back on if you do.

You can also get them made by Barons;

I found a set of these on ebay for $10. Work and fit perfect.

When removing the reed valves, there will be 2 real thin gaskets on each one. Be careful when removing these thin gaskets, trying not to tear or damage them and you can reuse one of each of these when you install the new coasters. Just a suggestion.

Great clean up mod and with aftermarket pipes, this takes away the popping on decel.
Look into the breather kits I also have, these really make the engine run better.
