You got it wet???

I was reading some posts over on the HD Forum, and one guy writes about his buddy's 08 Street Glide (7100 miles!) making a noise in the front end, so he takes it to a dealer. The dealer says the front wheel bearings are rusted. Keep in mind these are sealed bearings...

The bike is just recently out of warranty, and apparently premature bearing failure is an all-too-common problem with some HD's. So the guy calls the customer service dept at the MoCo, and explains the issue hoping that they will work with him on the cost of repairs. They ask him if he's ever pressure washed it and he told them "no". They ask him if he's ever ridden in the rain and he told them"yes, sometimes you can't avoid it".

HD tells him they have no history of similar failures and to "not ride the bike in the rain".

No kidding.

Oh, oh...and the last post in the thread says "Problems like these are why the metric guys laugh at us. I hope the OP was joking... if not this is really sad."

I about pi$$ed myself when I read that.

If it's not a joke, I'd bet the owner of the street glide is fit to be tied! That's about as ridiculous an excuse I've ever heard.

You always tell the dealer " no I didn't" sad day for the HD guy.
Lets all say a prayer for him.

That sounds like the same guy that told my wife not to use the oven after some of the inside parts melted.

Haha! That's a funny site....Here's a couple of classic quotes from a new owner first week recap......

Quote:
Some non-Harley riders feel like they have to constantly compare bikes or rag on Harleys without any real provocation. It's almost like they feel like they have to justify the fact that they don't have a Harley.

I really couldn't care less. Could I have gotten a faster bike for less money? No question, I absolutely could have. But I love the bikes and everything that comes with it (comradery, H.O.G, events, etc.). They buy a bike, leave the dealer, and that's IT.

No, just part of the new option package, security, cruise control, ABS, and BAD (bad ass dude) attitude.

Another quote from the forum,

"Kicking my bike over? Haven't had a kicker since 83. You mean kick it on its side? I will pop a .45 ACP hardball into your chest, point blank. Conversation over."

Mac you got a Harley??? ??? Or is this one of your relatives?
