Many like the Mobil One "Gold Cap", but I'm partial to the Shell Rotella T full synthetic 5W40.

T6 Rotella 5w40 so far so good.
Had a small dealer owner tell me if you get the lifter tap some of these experience on the next oil change put in 1/2 quart marvells mystery oil. Said they've been doing it for years and had great results...anyone hear of this?

There was a thread on here from me asking about MMO... and the outside/independent research that was provided by a fellow KN member was not encouraging enough for me to consider using it.

Do a search on it and see if you can find it again. It was sometime during this last winter.

Okay shoot me

I just did my post winter oil and filter and used the Shell Rotella 15/40. It is not synthetic, but I change my oil every 3500k's or about 2200 miles. I like it a lot but I may try the Rotella T5 10W40 semi-synth.

Rotella T (HDEO) 15W-40 and Rotella T6 (synthetic) 5W-40 are good. T6 is $19.50 a gallon and T is $10.50 a gallon.

I use MMO in every motor I own: lawnmower, trimmer, chainsaw, mulitple cars & vans, truck and bike. I only use it in the gasoline on the bike. Mower is 6 yrs old, trimmer is 17 yrs old, chainsaw is 16 yrs old. All of these see heavy use. All vehicles are or were high mileage. I have had many experiences of increased mileage per gallon; 2-3 mpg is common during freeway driving. It won't cure all ills, but it has a place and lots of history of positive experiences. I learned of it from a friend that used it in his HD.

Check out Bob is the oil guy forums for additional opinions on bike lubrication and MMO.

One MMO story: came across a high mileage Lincoln that had been serviced at a quick lube and had the air filter installed improperly; drawing in raw air for several months. The vehicle began to run rough and owner had a full tune up done thinking that was the problem. The vehicle still ran rough and the service shop said it would likely need a valve job after discovering the air filter issue. The cost was too high for the mileage on the vehicle and the owner kept driving the vehicle. I suggested that they try MMO at the recommended rate in the fuel and crankcase to see if the problem would ease. One oil change and several tanks of fuel later, the problem abated and has not returned.

Mobil 1

Go to 'Wally World' it's $23.00 for a 5 quart jug.

Just make sure it doesn't have the " Energy Conserving" label.

Purolator Pure One PL14612, about $6.
Mobil M1-108, about $12.
Made by Champion.
Bosch 3300, about $6.
Made by Champion

Purolator Pure One PL14610, about $6.
Mobil 1 M1-110, about $10 Made by Champion.
Bosch 3323, about $6.
Made By Champion.
WalMart SuperTech ST7317,
about $2. Made by Champion.

Get your filter there and save some $ also.

Okay shoot me

I use the Mobil 1 10W-40 full syn motorcycle oil and the Bosch 3300 filter. I get the oil at Wal-Mart but Auto Zone also carries it and the filter. A motorcycle mechanic told a friend of mine to always use motorcycle oil as it has additives that the non-motorcycle oil does not have. I have only used motorcycle oil since that time.

I've said it before ,and I will say it again. You don't have to go anywhere except the Kawi dealer for oil and a filter. They sell the Kawasaki semi-synethic 10-50 it's green. I've used all the wizard piss oils in my vehicles, and for the Nomad this stuff is the best IMO. It's about $7.00 a quart.

I have used nothing but the Kaw 20W50 oil and filter since the bike was new. I'm sure it has everything the Nomad needs.
