Windshield Bag

I've been surfing the net looking for a windshield bag for my 1500 Nomad. All of the bags I found attach to center windshield bolt. However, my windshield does not have a center bolt. As many of you know the bolts are spaced differently.

What bag would be good to purchase for my Nomad. I'll probably have to do some alteration.

Thanks for any info.

I have a windshield bag made by Kawasaki. It uses the the two middle bolts on the windshield. Check Ebay; there are lots of Kawi bags there last I looked.

You won't believe this, but I use a womans black leather purse, and just gutted it. I saved the built in calculator on the magnetic flap. It just drops in bewteen the screen and the risers. I just pluck it out when I want shades, or roll aids.

It was bought 6 bucks at walley world. So far in order to get teased I have to pluck it out and clip on the shoulder strap.

On my 01 when i bought it there was a mc bag and I hated it, since it was bolted up and it was a ROYAL pain to deal with.

I have one of these:
http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/detail...._content=48 345

It has a plastic 1" bar mount on the back.
I didn't put it in the center of the bars though, I put it on the right side of the bars.

I got it at a local shop for $35.
J&P also sells it.

Good idea Coach, I hadn't thought of doing that. No reason it wouldn't work.

Ironhorse leather bag comes with metal mounting bar inside with slots so fits the 2 center bolts no matter their spacing. had it on now for about 4 yrs holding up very well.

It can be easily removed if you want to take it off...just unbuckle the strap and off it comes. It has a couple compartments and works great. My stuff stays nice and dry.

Windshield Bag

Willy and Max make a detachable single compartment bag you can take with you when eating, hiking, etc or into your room at night. I know, who motels it???? It comes with a stainless steel strap that mounts at two points to the windshild and the bag the attaches to the bar with 1/4 turn twist locks. A bit 'o $$$$ but worth mentioning and looking into. I actually had to remount this one onto the passenger side of my trunk. When I installed the Scootworks 4" risers the bag was somewhat crushed between the windshield and risers making it tight for storage and difficult to remove. Hope I can find something that will work with the risers and new Reckless fairing when I install it. Any ideas/suggestions, ya'll?

Mine came from Wally World too, but it is a fairly large camera bag, I think. $8.
Thanks for your time

I was working on the bike today, and got some pics mainly for show n tell on Idahos lift adapter, but got a pic of my screen bag as is.. Nothing holds it there, it just sits there...

It looks something like Coacha's, but with no vulcan logo.

I have the Kaw large non-studded windshield bag.
http://www.powersportspartsonline.co...-p8242992.html

It attaches to the 2 center bolts and is very spacious. Holds gloves, a couple pairs of glasses, garage door opener, cell phone, etc. The only drawback is the fact that the windshield is curved and the bag is wide and also doesn't conform to the curve. So, I had to get longer bolts and I used a few sets of washers and nuts to mount it offset from the windshield.

But frankly, as I see the clever ideas others have come up with here, I'm keeping my eyes peeled for an alternative, or just unmount this thing and let it sit in the space between the shield and risers. It would make cleaning that area a helluva lot easier.
