Victory motorcycles

I was at a VROC function earlier this evening and one of the guys is the parts manager for a local Kawasaki/Victory dealer. I was asking him about the new Victory Cross Country. He said they are going out the door as fast as they can get them in.

I might try and ride one in April at AZ Bikeweek Cyclefest if they have them available for demo.

Yeah I like the looks of the Cross Country also. Keep us informed.
Not that I'm ready to give up the Nomad, just curious.

I was looking at the Cross Country also but dealer could not give me a delivery date and somewhere in the process he offered me a 2009 Vision hold over and the rest is history.
I would still like to ride the Cross Country some time this summer.

Got lucky and the local dealer let me ride the one he had a deal working on. Didn't get to go very far or pass 30 mph but it was nice. Not sure if it was $18,999 nice but nice.
They are also just like Hardley in their accessories, very proud and expensive. Guess thats why i bought the new Nomad.

I'm in no rush to replace my Nomad either, but I am somewhere in the process of thinking about my next bike. As nice as I've heard they are, the Vision isn't quite my cup of tea. The Cross Country is a strong candidate, though. When Victory releases a tourpak for it, that might seal the deal, though.

Nice bikes, I like the Cross roads, not too crazy about the fairing on the Cross country. But what I like best about my Nomad is that I own outright, can't see having a payment for a bike. And I can't afford cash for the newer bikes. So for now I will enjoy my '02 Nomad, she looks and runs good.

I guess I think of bikes like women, the younger ones are good to look at, but they are more expensive than they are worth. Besides I have beautiful slightly older model who still looks great and takes care of all my needs.

I was stoked to check out the Cross Country at the Seattle show last Dec. I have to admit....once I sat on it I was pretty disappointed. I did not care for it nearly as much as I thought I would. If I remember correctly, there is no heel shifter, so you have to run the gears with just your toe. The bags had little room and it just didn't give me the woody I thought it would....JMHO.

Well since the International Cycle Show didn't come to Phoenix this year, the best chance I have to see one will be in April. I'll just have to wait and see.

I like the direction Victory is going with their bikes. I will definitely consider a Cross Country for my next bike (5+ years from now).
