Air Horn

If you have some type of air horn please share the brand, your satisfaction with it, and ease of installation.

Air Horn

Hi Kid,

The Stebel seems to be the popular one. Here is a link that I created a while ago with instructions and where I bought it from.

http://www.vulcanbagger.com/phpBB3/v...ic.php?t=10107

I am not a great mechanic but I found this pretty simple. I strongly encourage you to buy the wiring kit ($10) it made it much easier.

I have had it mounted for many months now and love it. All my riding buddies want one. Don't be fooled. It is not as loud as a semi tractor trailer rig but it is many times louder than the stock horns. I kept one stock horn mounted and replaced the other one with the Stebel.

I have a 2003 1500 and mounted the horn on the throttle side of the bike.

Air Horn

we have the Stebel Nautilus Compact Motorcycle Air Horn on our bikes and we really do like them. This is all one piece and it fairly easy to install.

My understanding is the install is much easier on the 1600's . If I remember correctly I think you can mount it on the OEM horn bracket. Someone will chime in with confirmation or correct answer.

I think the clutch side is a better place for it anyhow...I find more idiots on my clutch side.

I mounted the Fiamm air horns, (twin trumpet style), I think they look better than the Stebel, but the Stebel Im sure is louder.
The Fiamm air horns are definately louder than stock though.
The main reason I used them is that Ive had them sitting in the garage for a few years, and figured I'd put them to good use.

Stebel Nautilus--very happy--Not to had to install.
I didn't use a mounting bracket. Just attached the horn itself to the fixture already on the bike.
Yeah , I know, I can't explain it you have to see it.

just make sure you install it using a relay rather than direct to the existing wiring....thay do pull high amps and can fry the horn button..............on my older C50 I installed directly to a hot wire from the battery and used the wire from the horn button to trigger the relay.

I installed the WOLO air horn using relay and in-line 30amp fuse.
Install was prettty simple but I choose not to use stock bracket and made my own.
Since we're only an hour apart, and if you want to see it, we could meet up one day.

I think the Stebel and Wolo are pretty much the ssame horn. I wanted more chrome so I went with the Stebel.
Here is where I bought mine. If I remermber right, schoeney told me about this website.

Air Horn

They have the same air horn at JP Cycles and call it a "Bad Boy" air horn. I had the chrome one before my deer incident and now have the flat black one. The chrome plastic one didn't retain it's looks very long, so I went with the cheaper black one the second time around.

Stebel, and it is easy to install. If I can do it pretty much anyone can. Great sound should have been the first thing I did to the bike.
