I put all the Christmas decorations and lights away today, so I decided to reward my efforts with a ride. I am on call for work, so I couldn't wander very far. I rode down to Casa Grande and bought gas and had some lunch at Whataburger - about 70 miles round trip. It is a beautiful day over here, and there was a time/temp sign in Casa Grande that said it was 72 degrees. I realized that the desert in January looks the same as in July, only your boot soles don't stick to the asphalt. Haha.

I know how it sounds. That's one of the reasons we left Salt Lake City 10 years ago.

I've visit AZ for the last 3 years, usually in March (to visit my snowbirding parents), and have really come to like Arizona. If I ever move, I'm looking in the Payson area. Nice forests, Mogollon Rim, a little more of the "four seasons", and a nice community.

Payson would be nice, but it still gets hot there in the summer. I ride through Payson a lot. If I had the opportunity, I'd go a little further up the rim to Showlow or Pinetop.

You could always give serious thought about moving down here in the sauna. We have hurricanes but no earthquakes and all consuming wildfires.
