chrome filler piece

Hello all and a merry christmas.
just wondering if anybody knows where to get or if anybody makes the chrome strip that fits between the fender and saddlebag for the earlier nomads (2002). I see that all the later models have that piece and it seems to close that gap just right.

The difference is between the 1500 and 1600 Nomad. The 1500 doesn't have the chrome filler piece and the 1600 does. On the other hand, they make a rear fender rail for the 1500 and they don't for the 1600, because they have the chrome filler piece.

Yep, Cj is correct. It's not some add-on, it's just a different model Nomad. But here is the rear rail that the 1500s can have. I wish I could find something like this for the 1600, but it doesn't exist.

...check Premeux for these pieces. My brother bought a set from them some years back. I'm not sure if they still sell them. :)

They look like they would be easy to make from some polished stainless if your a bit handy. I also seen them on the Premeux sight about a year or so ago.

I have a 2002 and have the chrome filler spacers on my bike from Premeux.

hello all..........are we talking about the same piece....i've got a chrome piece between the fender and bags, kind of alongside the seat and hides the fender support but i was talking about the piece that you see when you look at the bike from the back.......the piece runs up from bottom of bag and fender and fills in that space. the newer bikes seem to have that space filled
on the older bikes that space is open and you see the bag supports etc.............Peter

Here's what I'm talking about:


On either side of the rear fender, between the bags and fender, behind and above the turn signals. That's a standard 1600 Nomad piece.

hey cactusjack.......that's it allright......but do they make that piece for the 1500?...that piece realy puts a nice finished look to the rear end of the bike......i might have to fabricate something if i have to and bount it with spacers off of the bag.......nice looking bike by the way.Black and chrome,,,does it get any better hehehe

As was mentioned before, the 1500 didn't come with one from the factory. I don't know if anyone makes a ready-made filler piece for the 1500. Here's the part # from a 2007 1600 Nomad:

14091B COVER, SIDE BAG STAY, LEFT HAND 1 $94.67
14091C COVER, SIDE BAG STAY, RIGHT HAND 1 $94.67

I have no idea if they can be modified to fit a 1500.

on 1500's the bags are much closer to the bike. The bolts are 40 simeing mm long, and on the 1600 these bolts are more than double that.

Maybe some aftermarket has something. But the 1600 probably won't be modded for a fit with out a lot of fine cutting and labor.

Many parts will not interchange from the 1500 to the 1600 or back.
