1001 miles on my CT

I'll keep it short and sweet. Reached 1001 miles on my Dunlop SP5000 195-60 16 and I will never switch back to a MC tire, ever! Nuff said!

After watching a couple of Vulcans with CT's on at ES, I am ready to go for next year.

I'm at about 1,500 miles on mine and it keeps getting better. I feel the same about the MC tire.

1001 miles on my CT

I put 11K miles on my Dunlup sp 5000 and it's still looking great. I expect 25K+ miles out of it.

I also have 11K miles out of my Metzeler rear tire on the front. It also looks great and I expect equal amount of miles out of it if not more.

1001 miles on my CT

Did 1034 miles on my CT this past Saturday. I was on an Iron Butt Saddle Sore 1000. This tire is perfect, especially in the rain.

1001 miles on my CT

This may seem like a dumb question to you guys, but it isn't to me. Has anyone ever run a CT on the front? Just wondering how that would work out.

1001 miles on my CT

ok.........dumb question from a new member.........

the car tire on the rear i love the idea and have already looked at the prices and where to get it....but the front tire.......

have stockish bias ply on both ends, when you go to the radial on the rear must you have radial on the front? and along with that what do youall run for a front tire?

02 mostly stock, has pipes and a programer to match (was on bike when i bought it just over a month ago) but drive it like the old man i am......

thanks

Welcome aboard allangoff. You have stumbled across a great bunch of people, glad to have you aboard.

Running 37 psi lonewolf. I think that is my sweet spot as she just glides down the road like an ocean liner in calm waters.

As you will find as you read through the DarkSide threads here allan , that no one will recommend a car tire on the rear, as do I. Putting a car tire on the rear of your bike requires a lot of research to determine if it is right for you.

As for car tire on the front, I would strongly recommend against it. The math for a car tire on the front is just not supported. To be honest, I don't think there is any information available anywhere to make an informed decision on making the switch to a car tire on the front. Plus, I don't think the geometry of the car tire will allow it to work effectively while cornering as the front tire works completely different from the rear. In my humble opinion that is.
