Our New England Trip

I never did post pictures from our biggest bike trip, back in June, to Maine! That trip was 9 days through 9 states and 1,900 miles.
Of course, I have a picture show, but instead of boring you with that, I'll post some pictures here

We spent some time with friends in NJ and one came along with us to CT to spend time with more friends (she rides a Vulcan 900 too)

Ah oh....her 900 will NEVER feel the same after sitting on a Nomad!

A ride through the Mohawk Trail with friends in Massachussetts!

The FAMOUS hairpin turn!!!

High altitudes exhaust me!!!

The view

The view from The Golden Eagle restaurant, right at the hairpin turn!

At dinner with friends our last night in CT

We were ALWAYS having to pull over and change into rain gear!

We went as far as Portland and stopped for the night

Some sights in Maine

Shopping in Freeport!!!!

What's a visit to Maine without lobster?!

Nice pics, looked like quite the trip. For the first few pics It looked like you had the same weather we did when we went to Cape Breton. Rain cloudy then rain a little sun then rain never two good days in a row. looks by the latter part of your pics you had fine weather.

You went to Laconia and didn't stop by? I live 25 miles from the Looney Bin Bar to my door! That is up by Fun Spot! I can tell you went on Rt 11 by the lake on the south side...(place your hubby is on that yellow thing)

Could have had a night with no fee in a bed with your hubby and washed anything you wanted too.

Laconia is never like what you saw this year.. Most of the time you are lucky to park any bike...

From where you took pics of each other at the depot there is Mtns in the back ground i live there...

I can track your trail from Somersworth NH to either Rt 108 or the Spaulding aka Rt 16 to Rt 11 west passing the lake to the weirs..

I hope you went North from there up Rt 3 to atleast Rt 112..

What kind of a camera set-up do you use to take pics on the move?

Before leaving Lanconia, we had to mail a box of stuff home to ourselves!!! We bought too much!!! LOL

The weather held for our few days in New Hampshire, but once we started heading home....WHOA!

We finally had to stop for the night in CT

We rode over that HUGE bridge in New York that goes into New Jersey

A bridge in New Jersey

Lots of big highways!

Oh, and I forgot to add....in Maine we had to do laundry!!

Back home in Maryland!

Thank you!

After reading your comment, it reminded me that I needed to post some of the trip home....it was POURING BUCKETS of rain on us for the trip home :'( I kept asking Chaz over and over again.....why don't they make windshield wipers for bikes?!!!! If I look through the windshield, I can't see....if I look over the windshield, the rain hits my helmet shield and I can't see ::)

You won't believe this, but I take all my pictures free-hand!!!!
I just use my left hand and click!!! I do have a camera mount on my handlebars. I find that the only time I use that is for recording on twisty roads....for instance, when we rode the Tail of the Dragon, I recorded that!!!

PS - On ALL our travels, we STILL had people LOVING the thermometer on our windshields!!!!!

Glad you enjoyed our neck of the woods. I am an hour south of Laconia in the NE corner of Taxachusetts.
I frequently ride NH and Maine. Never south, not yet anyway. Vermont is good ridin also.
I,ve done the hairpin turn on bike and in a large truck.

Hope to meet up some day.
Mark
