Making it mine.

::) In the neverending saga of making my new 1700 black Nomad my own and just right for me. I installed an accessory plug last night for my GPS and IPOD. Most of my mods or additions are for functional reasons. Since getting the bike I have:
a. installed a radio/amp and speakers (black)
b. Installed a Wompus four bar black luggage rack.
c. made a leather windshield bag to hold the amp. (eventually I will make a matching Portmantu for the luggage rack.)
d Installed an accessory plug.
e. drink holder. ($8) Cup ($25) (Something wrong with those figures but it is a good thermal cup.
f. Painted the bottom of the windshield and lowers stained glass blue a la Gadgits page.
Still to go:
a. RAm mount for GPS.
b. MUltivex mirrors to eliminate blind spots.
c. case guard Chaps. (anyone know of a good manufacturer that has the 1700 set out yet?)
d. Bigger lowers (Edmundson sounds good but they haven't made the 1700 yet.
d. Towing electical harness and ball. (Once again not ready for the 1700 yet.)
e. After d. comes a trailer for camping. (I do medieval re-enactment and need more than the pimple tent and bag.)

When my wife finds the camera recharger I will get some pictures out.

Contact Classic Chaps. I know they were willing to use my brother's bars (Kurekyen) as a prototype so I suspect they might do the same for the new 1700's.

Try AirLite for your engine guard chaps. I have them for my 1600 and they fit and work great. Price isn't bad either. I don't know if he has made them for the 1700.

Its' my wifes fault. I swear.

Perhaps I'll try the cell phone thing. the windshield and lowers bluing looks good even if it isn't something you would want on your bike.

Try DH Customs for your chaps. They are members here. You will find the link on the Home Page.
