Stebil doesn't work all the time!

I was going to work this morning on the 4 lane interstate. It was heavy traffic (about 65 mph). This old man in a yellow VW was in right center lane, I was in the left center lane and a truck was in the left lane. I was in a bad location between the vehicles but just didn't have anyway to back off or move foward. The old man in the VW all of a sudden decided he wanted to move in my lane without giving a signal. I held the stebil horn down steady but he came on anyway. I had about 2 foot clear on each side. The old man just looked at me like I must have been splitting lanes and was in his way. Luckily after we made eye contact (2' away) and I was saying some "words" he finally went back in his lane. I guess the old guy was deaf because the stebil horn was hurting my ears but didn't seem to get his attention. That's the longest I have ever held it on. By the time he moved over I was clear enough to accelerate and get away from him. Going to work is such an experience.

I think you need to leave earlier and take a different route to work. Stay healthy.

Bobby, you do need to leave earlier and take some of those nice back roads. I know sometimes it is necessary to be on those interstates but I hate when I have to be on them in towns and cities. Ride safe.

Here's the next step up. I just don't know how to mount it.

Bob, those would get most anyone's attention. A bit pricey for me, but....

Hey, Bobby. I feel your pain, brother. We have inherited half of New Orleans here post Katrina. Our traffic is unbelieveably bad. Unfortunately, you have to go through that mess to even get out of town. Not only is the traffic horrific, but people here now drive like they are in a NASCAR race. Switching lanes like nobody's business. A lot of bikers here leave very early for work, but they get off early, beating a lot of they bad rush hour stuff. Between cell phones, not giving a #$%#, and/or having their head up their a55, it's pretty dangerous out there.

Yes I-55. Most of my trouble is I-55 north between the stack and lakeland Drive. I guess the highway patrol and JPD must still be asleep. You never see them on the road in the mornings so everyone drives about 80mph weaving in and out of traffic. Yes I do leave extra early. I would hate to see the traffic if I left home 1 hour later. My afternoon comute is right at rush hour so it doen't matter which way I go. Plus, the roads (highway or backroads) are so bad your lucky not to ruin your tires. I counted no less than what I call speed bumps on the highway in a 5 mile stretch. The highway has buckled (raised like a speed bump) areas about every 200' but there are about 30 that are real bad in the southbound lane and there are about 50 in the northbound lane in the same area. It's probably not too bad on a car or truck but it's like hitting a ramp on a motorcycle. What happened to all the money for road improvements and pay for police enforcement?

Boy if there was a way to mount them it could be fun. If they're deaf they could feel the sound waves.

My wife always wants to carry a paint gun to fire upon offenders. Now that could be fun.
