Corbin seat install

I'm trying to install a Corbin solo seat on my 02 Nomad FI and having a hell of a time. Does anyone have any tips for getting the tongue where it's supposed to go so the brackets line up? Thanks!

Sorry, you're the first person I've heard of who bought a Corbin seat for a Nomad. I've never even seen one on a Nomad.

A few people on the Kawasaki Drifter forum over on Delphi use Corbin seats, they may be able to help you out if no one here can.

I have a Corbin Dual tour on my 06. The only problem that I have while mounting it is getting tounge under the bracket when a tank bib is present. And reason for that is that the thickness of the bib makes it a much tighter fit. Without a tank bib it just slides right in. Try wiggling the seat back and forth and pushing forward. It really shoudnt be that hard. Did you buy the seat new or used. The seats for the 05 -08 are different than the 04's and back, from my understanding. If its that hard you may have one for a different model year. Call them if you have any problems I'm sure that they could help you out with mounting problems.

It supposedly came off a Nomad my year and everything looks like it lines up, but the tongue at the front just won't get into the little slot. I'll try bending it a bit and maybe even remove it...

Even with my stock seat and no tank bib I had this issue. I ended up bending down the front edge of the plastic "claw" on the leading edge of the seat, in order to get it started on the mount more easily.

I run a Corbin and don't have an issue. If your stocker is having the same problem as Caddman mentioned his did, you may have an issue with the receiving bracket. Otherwise, if it is Corbin's problem, they'll make it right based on my past experiences with them. I'd call them and ask about it. Can't hurt.

Just to let the forum know - I bought my Corbin Tour for my '03 Classic, and it fit like a glove on my '06 Nomad. I just got through sitting on it for three days and 865 miles. Oh, you ask, "is my ass tired"? yes!

Was your classic a 1500 or a 1600? Inquiring minds want to know. ;)

I got it put on - at least the screws were lined up and able to go in. Not sure where the tongue is resting, but all is solid - will take it for a test tonight, but just sitting on it tells me the new position will take a little getting used to...

My Classic was a 1600. When I bought the '06 Nomad the dealer told me the seat would not fit. He was wrong.
