GOATS BELLY PAINTING

The goat belly on my 2005 has lost all the black paint and is now rust colored. Have any of you painted yours and if so how did you do it and what type of paint did you use. I want mine to be black again. Very unsightly now.

thanks

GOATS BELLY PAINTING

Hi flightdoc, my 03 has the same thing going on, I have a good friend who has a body shop, and he has suggested that I use a high heat engine paint as well as a primer, he said to try it in a small area after allowing it dry then warm up the bike and check it out should work. hope that helps.

Any hardware store should have VHT flat black. Rustoleum VHT (I believe up to 2K degrees( will work fine.

flightdoc........get back with us and let us know if that works. I've thought about doing the same thing, but didn't know if it would really work.

I use High Heat stove pipe spray paint on my 94 BUBF, with great results. I did this every two years and had her for 13 years. All I did was clean it with steel wool wipe it down with a cloth then paint it. Look new when I put it back on the bike.

I kind of like the patina. It adds character.
