I feel sorry for Lorena Ochoa

It is such a tragedy having to retire from being a professional golfer at the age of 28. Of course I realize how tough it is to go out and PLAY golf for three or four days in a row in each tournament. And the low pay they get. Guess that is why she is retiring, not enough pay and all the hard work. Glad I was in the Navy and then the Army for 20 years and able to take it easy. Never having to move where I didn't want to go and things like that. And the three, one year vacations I got to take in Korea away from my wife and children. Now that was great. Then working in a factory for nine and a half years after retiring from the Army. That was the easy life. WORKING ten hours a night and overtime on Sunday nights. I can see why she retired.

I have no idea who she is but I say if she can afford to retire at 28 more power to her.
Why anyone would want to work when they don't have to is beyond me.

Professional lady golfer TC. Saw in the paper that she is retiring. So she wasn't working only playing golf for a living. I was making a pun out of her retiring at such a young age.

I know you were just kidding around Gene
I thought I would just throw in my perspective on the retirement thing.
Sorry if you took it the wrong way. No disrespect ment.
You know what bothers me is how these TV and Movie stars think they have it so freekin rough. Half the time you see reruns on TV cause they are on hiatus :-/
The woman that used to be on NCIS had them kill her off on the show because she said," I have never worked so hard in my life". ::)
Gotta love it.

Idaho, a sense of worth?
If someone hasn't earned a sense of worth by the time they can retire then they haven't led a very productive life.
I'm retired and just the fact that I am still alive gives me a reason to get up and move around every day.

Just think Gene, if you could golf as well as Ms. Ochoa, you could have retired decades ago!

I feel sorry for Lorena Ochoa

Well, let's see. Lorena Ochoa was the #1 golfer on the LPGA for several years running now. In winning and endorsements she has made a ton of money. About a year ago she married the CEO of AeroMexico airline. I imagine he makes some pretty good money also. Now she wants to have a family even though her husband already had kids. Three I think.

I wonder how long she will stay retired?

That is true TC for old guys like you and I. We have a lifetime of labor to stand behind our 'self worth'. Even so some our age continue to work or volunteer in community service to maintain some sense of human value, self worth.

A person retired at age 28 has been extremely lucky in lifes lottery and does not enjoy the lifetime of labor that you and I have to establish that feeling for the rest of their days.

At least, it sounds reasonable to me.

I would predict she satys retired right up until she starts her second career rasining the children she wants to have. If done right, that is a full time job.
