Vegas Ride Suggestion

hangon,

And anyone else that has suggestions....

the year before last when I was in Vegas I had a couple guys with me that rode and we rented Harleys from the local shop there (yeah yeah, I know - But thats what you gotta get when you rent for a day).......we went out through Red Rock Canyon...took 160 out to Pahrump then I guess around Mt. Charleston over to 95 and back into Vegas.

I am planning on doing the same in a few weeks...probably will have 4 - 6 hrs to ride.......what's the best 'must see' ride we should do for that amount of time in the Vegas area????

No worries Bro head down to Lake Mead and go north thru Twin Sisters to Valley of Fire 2 1/2- 3 hour ride. this time of year is excellent riding. Or ride to Oakmen AZ.(I think I spelled that wrong) first ride to Kingman AZ take old route 66 to Oakman then hit Loughlin NV. then head north to Vegas about 5-6 hours with lunch brk. I Think I'm off that day just send me a PM if ya want a guide

Yes, hangon, you got the spelling wrong. It is Oatman. I really do not know why you would want to go there. It is a hole in the wall type place. I did the River Run Poker Run this year and it was not on the route but I got lost and ended up there. What a place not to be at when it is 110 outside. That is when having a liquid cooled engine is nice.

I would suggest doing the Valley of Fire. It is a state park so expect to pay about $10 to get in. The ride back to Vegas from there is nice and slow. If you have more time, you could go down to Lake Havasue. That is where the London Bridge ended up.

True so true but the beer is cold. I wasn't interested in going to Oatman but getting their from route 66. You should try it some time, lots of twisties and hills. that road is not for Winnie's. Its not always important were ya going but how ya got their.see ya on the road.

If I was to go to Oatman again, I will not do it when it is so hot. The old route 66 over to Kingman should be a fun ride.

Todd if you want to ride 5-6 hrs then I recommand head south. If you want to just get a quick ride in and see some sights then go to Vally of Fire. SEE ya on the road.

Sounds like Valley of Fire might be my best bet....I gotta fit a ride in between other commitments while I am there (Not a vacation).

Looks like we have between 10 or so in the morning to around 2 or 3.
