Apealling or Repulsive?

I'm not looking for the " It's Your Bike and That's what Counts" speech. I just want to hear your personal opinions.

I have always been a huge fan of fringe, tassels, conchos, studs and mud flaps and things. I have always loved the look of tassels from the handle bar ends. Fully studded seats, backrests, saddle bags, tank bib and fringe lining the floor boards, saddle bag sides and the rear of the fenders. The way they dance in the wind. I have yet to see a bike more visually appealing to me than a drifter or indian, loaded with as much of this flair as possible. With chrome laced wire wheels and fat white walls to make it all pop. Very classy imo.

The fringe is what I'm seeking your opinion on the most though. I LOVE the fringe. Only on the bike though, Not on your jackets and chaps fellas. Lol. Anyway being that I'm 37 years old, the people I ride with seem to have a different opinion on the matter and I really don't want to be the center of all their negative attention when we're at the local bike night gatherings. Image is still somewhat of an issue to me at this point in my life.

Also I ride an 06 Nomad and not sure if this look would compliment the hard bag style. So let the debate begin. Anyone?

It doesn't take that long.

Myself.... not so much on the fringe. But remember - the lion never loses sleep over the opinion of sheep. Go for what you like

I love the look on some bikes, Like Indians, but fringe on Nomad hardbags would look out of place.

Repulsive. I don't care for the look myself. It's your bike, you're the one who has to ride it. Obviously, it matters to you what others think or you wouldn't have asked this question.

Sometimes asking opinions can prevent hilarious catastrophic endings such as the event mentioned in another thread where a feller got the brilliant idea to sever his phallus and skip his silly ass off a two story building and lived to tell about it.

The way I see it, had he posted his intentions on a board somewhere another perhaps this brilliant brain storm would have remained on the drafting table and not put into motion.

Thank you Kawhead. You nailed it. Atleast someone was payin attention.

I was not asking for permission or if anyone thought that I should do this. And I would never go full on rhinestone cowboy either, just a little here and there.

As I stated in my original post " not lookin for the it's your bike do what you want speech". I just was lookin for opinions and friendly conversation on the subject. Thought we could have a little fun with it that's all. Oh well.

What the hell? You got nearly six pages of fun! Think of each post as a little sparkling rhinestones, sequins, conchos, and tassels

As the meanest bstrd on the board, and hates Obama and Holder 'cause they black "Top Cat" has always said; "You ain't never going to get a strait answer from any of the smart asses in this place"! He never embarrasses them by mentioning their name for they know to well exactly who THEY ARE!

I appreciate being appreciated! At least somebody amongst the thousands notices talent when they see it! Or when it listens to 'em.

Ok you said you don't want the it's your bike speech, so I won't go there but if you like fringes and conchos and tassels so much, maybe you should have bought a horse. I don 't care for the look myself although when I was still a lad in high school and rode a bike, all the rage was buckskin leather jackets with fringes. Everyone had a jacket like that and so did I. Still got the jacket some where, but I wouldn't be caught dead in it these days even though I am over peer pressure.

I have the ends of the lace from my leather grip and lever covers and 1 Concho on my tank bra. But that's it. Too much of it and you might think about relocating to a retro hippie community .

I don't like the fringe.
I think it clutters up the bike.
I feel the same way about excessive chrome and murals.
This is my Drifter, the only fringe on it is on the back of the seat and it is only there to cover the huge empty space when a solo seat is installed.
