How many miles...

Thanks everyone for replying. I have put over 4k on mine since getting it in late June. I thought it would be interesting to see how varied the amount of riding would be. I knew it would be pretty varied because of where we all live.

I have a mustang convertible that is being abused right now. Haven't driven it, except to move it around the driveway, since July. A neighbor asked if I wanted to sell it, told her I couldn't ride the bike all the time...but maybe I can. lol

Another friend said I had too many toys to choose from (mustang vs. bike). But, even though you can feel the wind in your hair in the mustang, I find it won't lean like the bike. ;)

I can make you feel better. I got mine in May and I looked down on my way to the office this morning (that's right, working on Saturday, but I rode in) and noticed that I had turned 2000 sometime during this last week of commuting. So your 4000 is looking pretty good to me.

I agree with others that the Rally in Custer next year will help to boost next year's mileage way over this year. I think my wife loves the Nomad more than I do cause she is always trying to find reasons to go riding where she never did before.

I've put about 4,000 this year. Not nearly as much as I would like, but there's not a whole lot of point of me riding it to work since I live about five miles from there; the bike wouldn't even be fully warmed up before I get there. I used to live outside of town and it was around 20 miles to work then, and of course, the bike was ridden in all the time.

Holy mackerel!!!
That's an average of 2130 miles per month or 65 miles a day. (and y'all thought rednecks had problems with 'rithmetic. . .)
I'm impressed, and somewhat envious. That kind of riding has to have some nice trips and good memories that go with it.

I ride mine to work, about 50 miles one way. The best temp this summer, only happened a couple of times was 50 degrees in the morning. Usually around 40 degrees. But the ride home is what it's all about for me. I usually take the long way home.

I bought my bike in April of 2007 and put 8k on it for the rest of the year. So far I have only put 3k on this year.

How many miles...

I bought my 08 on May 13 of this year, and right now it has 7468 on it. I usually get about 8000 miles in a riding year up here. The most mileage I ever got on a bike was on my CBR600 in 2003. I put on 8800 miles that summer.
Our riding season here is generally from late April until mid October, or basically half of the year. My goal is still to get 10000 miles on a bike in a summer, but I have to face reality that it's not going to happen this year. It probably won't happen next summer either since we're expecting our first baby in March. Since I'm a teacher, I get the summer months off, so I'll be staying home with baby while Mom works. But, that's great with me!
As an example, I put on 200 miles today. A friend and I decided to ride to Minot today, which is about 100 miles one way. The high here today was 55, and the wind was blowing about 25 mph, so it wasn't a warm day by any means. Before we left this morning, we talked about taking his pickup instead of the bikes. I said that at least today riding is an option. In January when it's 20 below and there is three feet of snow on the ground, it's not an option. So, we slapped on all the leathers and took off, and it really wasn't bad at all.
We've got about a month left to ride, so I've set my goal to try and get the odometer over 8000 before she sleeps for the winter.
I am so envious of you guys that get to ride year round. One of the hardest things for me to do is go out in the garage when it's the middle of January and take the cover off the bike and wish I was riding. These winter months get mighty long up here!

How many miles...

I just dont understand. dont you people have a job? dont you guys do anything nearby your own house? ;)

Even before I ever even owned a bike, I nver put more than 14000 miles a year on my truck. Now it's roughly half and half. Would be more but I wear shirt and tie to work most all days and it just not fun wearing khaki in rain. During the week I am a fair weather driver. 630 in the am there too many things to risk for a country drive in the fog /rain, without taking a full change of clothes and totally not worth it for my 13 mile commute.

Bought the Nomad in August. Have about 2300 of my own miles on it so far.

I take long, weekend rides "That'a Way". I'd ride to work, and used to before moving to DFW.

I averaged about 7,000 a year in WA state - of course, out there, you have to ride in the rain. It's a given. Here in Tx. I'll ride year-round most likely.

Bought mine with 8200 on it last November, didn't get endorsement till mid-December. I am just a few miles short of 19,000 right now. We did 225 today.
