‘05 nomad blown ignition fuse

Good morning all ,

I’m having an issue with the ignition fuse blowing on my ‘05 nomad . It first started in July when I was 110 miles into a 4 day trip I was coming around a right hand curve and my ignition fuse blow for no reason. Just happened to be right where a pull out was so got lucky and had a safe place to assess the issue . Got the bike running again but as soon as I went to lift the bike off the kickstand and any slight lean to the right it would blow the fuse again. It has happened to me on 2 other occasions I have done visual inspection and found nothing . I have checked under the tank , fuse box , relays . Battery , headlight , driving lights for a short and nothing. I don’t own a ohm meter . I’m hoping someone can help me, thanks .

^^^^ That would be my first place to look as well.
If it hasn't rubbed through I'd open up the harness at the top of the rear cylinder and check for broken wires.

What they said! These bikes will rub thru on the top rear cover and there are a couple of bad spots on the frame right under the fuel tank toward the rear.....
Be sure and get yourself a digital multitester, and a simple old styled 12 volt test light....and should run it down quickly....

Also check the harness at the neck. A few folks have had bare wiring there. When I had this problem it was the relay that holds the main fuse. The pins on the back had a lite film on them from the years gone by causing just enough resistant's to pop the fuse.

As you mentioned the kickstand, and leaning to the right. I would check the kickstand switch, and the wiring to it.

Well I found the culprit wire, it was in the battery compartment. It was one of the wires in the main feed to the ECM . I guess with having 208k kms (130k miles) on the old girl it happens. Thanks for the reply’s and all the ideas where to look
