And just saying I like oil threads. It brings activity to the forums.

Its like tire threads. Some folks get 20000 out of a hundred dollar tire. I cant get 10000 out of a 200 dollar tire. The cut of asphalt were you ride most and how you ride can change that result in a hurry.

Don't mean to high-jack this oil thread with a tire comment.. but, since you brought it up. How long have you been running Commanders?

I've been riding on Metzeler 888 front/rear for 10 plus years, I must be on my 5th set. I've been intrigued by the Commander III. Dual compound and all that. Not that I'm dissatisfied with the Metzelers, I'm just looking for a tire with a longer center tread life and similar qualities as the Metzeler.

What are your pro's and con's of them? Wet weather, general stickiness in the corners, durability etc.

I've never met an Oil thread that I didn't like. This is one of those subjects that never gets old, usually changes with the wind but it is a critical component in the life of our machines.

I use Castrol 15/40 Blended. So far I've only found on-line. So far I just can't bring myself to use full synthetic but with every "Oil" thread I get that much closer to taking the plunge.

I use Mobil 1 10w40 high mileage full synthetic in my Nomad (21k miles and counting) and also used it exclusively in my Mean Streak from new til sold @32k miles. The rest of my fleet (EN500, VLX, C3) get Quaker State semi.
