The originals won't go back on Mike. They got tossed after being damaged when we high-sided the bike over Easter weekend in '14. I have Cobra slashcut slip-ons now, which are showing signs of wear, & have chrome starting to flake. I'll hang onto those for sure.

I figure the FP slip-ons are worth a try. They'll be a little louder than the Cobra, but if it starts looking like I'll risk my excellent relationship with my neighbors, I'll tone them down a bit using drag-pipe baffles. I've done that before with the V&H Cruzers I had on my 800, and they're a much cheaper and more "tuneable" solution than any FP quiet baffles will be. I can bend tabs out of the way until I have exactly the tone I want.

Oh... And What? Response #'s 1 through 5 already in use... Tinnitus has been a near constant companion for a few years now.

Well, if theres 2 bikes side by side, both the same everything, but 1 has the Ivans work done....and you just test drove both bikes a hour before purchase, you'd go with the Ivans every single time....you would not give the other bike a thought except thinking somethings wrong with it.....

To what DragonLady58 said

His last update fixed that problem for me. From the original flash and first to second update each was better going forward.

Had the same issue but no worse than original stock flash.
It was a bitter sweet pill in that the flash had greatly reduced the running temp and improved the "grunt" of the engine but no improvement on low speed throttle jerkyness.
However.... and this was a fix that worked for me...
1 - make sure your throttle play is in spec... near to zero play is better
2 - adjust your De-accelorator cable for zero cable play or close to it. I took my right side cover off to see the cable attatched to carbie for visual reference.
The De-accelorator cable adjustment was the main cure.
Hope this helps.
Cheers, Pete.

The thing that got rid of the jerky low speed for me was picking up the throttle mod from RacNRay and it does give you a more instantaneous throttle response

The one pulled by the throttle when you close it - so that would be the one closest to you. But as long as you make sure you have minimal play in both of the throttle cables - control will improve.

I still have Raycnrays throttle mod on my Ivans 3.0 and the throttle response is touchy but manageable. Not anything like stock= that really sucked.

Well... The FP Liberty slip-on's have been on the bike for a week or so now, with quite a bit of around town riding in an open face helmet, and for one longer journey using the flip-front full face helmet and my touring molded ear-plugs.

Verdict... I like them! I initially thought they may be a little too loud, but found I'm getting used to that little bit more "attitude" quite quickly.

I can putter about normally when I'm gentle with the throttle, and lift the aggression and noise level perfectly with a twist of the wrist. The tone on deceleration is a nice deep reverb.

For those on the cheap and want a good throaty rumble, get some harley discards....fit them to your exhaust....usually pick up a pr. for $35-$55 off ebay.....cheaper if you drop by the harley shop....
