Anything I should know about this air intake mod?
I know it's definitely not stock, not sure exactly what mod it is but I figure maybe I should know, just in case there's any specific maintenance things or anything? Can anyone identify?
Also the air cleaner on the left side is empty and I found a little nest in it so I'm either going to close off the 2 holes in the back with some thin aluminum or just remove it altogether and replace with something decorative. Wondering what other people have done with this area? Login or Register to Remove Ads |

That looks like a teardrop version of the "Halfway to Thunder" air kit.

There are numerous ideas on this site for what others have done with the left side dog bowl. I took mine off along with all the smog stuff and went with a Chucksters K&N air cleaner on the right side. Chuckster is a great place to start, he does nice work...

I've been looking around and I think I might actually relocate my ignition there. I like the look of this Barons relocation kit (which seems to be discontinued everywhere - but I think I can probably just make it from some CNC'd aluminum)

I put that relocation kit on my 01 Nomad when I did my Air cleaner . It was much easier than reaching for the ignition . It was also nice to have the " Choke " just under it which I had to use many times to start my bike on colder days . I'm surprised they discontinued it , not enough sold I guess . Making one shouldn't be that difficult though . I got a lot of compliments on it !!
Good luck !! |

That is a "Thunder Mfg." air kit.
I do have the "Halfway to Thunder" on my bike, and on the left side, I have the HD cow bell horn. A few years ago, I put one of those covers over the horn from Kuryakyn.
