Anyone live in the Sparta, NC general area?

Probably going to move to Sparta, NC in the near future to be closer to my aging mother. Anybody live around there (within 50-100 miles) with employment info? I'll need a decent job ASAP.

Thanks.

I couldn't tell you about Sparta, but NC in the more urban areas is undergoing one hell of a growth spurt.

In the CLT area they're having a hard time filling positions.

About an hour and a half away. That would be close enough to Sparta.

I don't have a "specialty". I've been a correctional officer for the past 15 years and I'm just plain burned out. Maybe I could see working in a county jail but I'm pretty out of shape. No way I could back in shape in the next month. I don't really care what I do (other than corrections) as long as it's legal, moral and pays the bills.

What's "CLT"? If you're just missing an "i", I'm in.

Charlotte to Sparta is right at 100 miles. (It looked farther on the map.) That would be doable but at about the limit. I wouldn't want to go any farther.

I don't have to LIVE in Sparta. That's where my mother lives and where I'll base myself while looking for work if I move down there before I find a job. I just want to stay within about 100 miles of Sparta so I can see my mom on a regular basis. Within 100 miles, I can visit her once a week or at worst, a couple times a month. Beats the heck out of once a year as it is now.

Chris, a friend of mine moved down to Mint Hill, NC and works at one of the Food Lion grocery stores, he is now running the meat dept. he says he makes fairly good money. There are Food Lion stores in Winston/Salem, if that line of work would be something for you to consider, let me know. I can contact him and he could tell you what all they do. Gerry

Are you still in your 30's, not quite 40 yet?
