I wish I had found this. Seems simple enough. Duh...it never dawned on me.

Question: Which water pump bolt is the drain on a 2006 Nomad 1600? I've seen two different references in other threads. Again, this is on the 2006 Nomad 1600.

To me, removing the tank is a lot quicker, and easier............ about 6~8 minutes and the tank is sitting on the table........... Once you remove the tank a few times, it becomes a routine task.

I think the drain bolt on the water pump is the one at about 10:30 o'clock

So far that's three different positions: top left, top right, lower left that various people have suggested.. I guess it doesn't matter. Next time I'll loosen them all and let it drip. I did lower left per someone else's claim and it dripped for a while. And, I'll do the overflow method next time too.

there's 4 bolts, top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right. Don't remove the bolts on the right side, just left side. The top left bolt is the air escape hole for the pump, and the bottom left bolt is the coolant drain hole for the pump.

Coolant change

I tried this method today with the reserve tank, it did not work for me, The fluid would not go in, I ended up pulling the tank anyway. It seems to me that in order to really do the job properly, you really should remove the tank. IMHO.
