Just look on your threads of your tubes....you want the opposite of screwing them in....
Yep that's what I'm doing. Kinda scared to hit it with the impact though so haven't tried it as yet.

If you decide on the impact, if you can't get it with the pull handle....remember, on the bottom of your impacts handle, theres a knob, with #s 1-4turn it down to 3, and when you hit the trigger, hit it hard and fast! You only want that impact hitting on it about 3 or 4 hard hits! On #3, your not applying full torque, only about 75% of the full torque put out by that impact at that psi.
Just on and off the trigger really fast! Thats a big dia. fine thread on the end of that spark plug tube....

Another thing I found it they are especially stubborn, I'll get some crushed ice, pack it around the plug up agianst to spark plug tube wall....shove your bolt in there, put a little torque on it....after it starts to unscrew about a turn, blow out your tube. This will keep a minimum of crap from getting past the seal and threads....
I have also used a touch of ether....it gets cold as hell...., which will try and shrink the tube. You could get a couple of cans of the air cleaner for computers, turn the can upside down, and spray the well outta the plug tube wall....then try removal....

to remove those spark plug tubes, go to hardware store and buy a 2 1/2" long 6 point sided hex 27mm head bolt, with 2 - 27mm nuts, jam the nuts on the end of the bolt, the hex head end of the bolt fits into the spark plug tube and you use a 27mm wrench on the jammed nut to back out the tube

I actually had the bolt and one nut. Not sure why and don't remember buying it, but it was in my stock bin and brand new. It's not like a common size so maybe I bought it just for this, but if so why only one nut? Who knows. I ended up welding the nut to the bolt since I didn't have a second nut for the jamb. Worked like a champ and now I have a dedicated tool made for them. Needed a long breaker bar so I could apply even smooth pressure and she came out. The tube looks fine and no signs of chain wear/rubbing. The bike only has 43,000 miles on it so should be o.k. for a while.

The o rings are completely shot. Hard as a rock and flattened out. The thinner (inboard) o ring snapped when I tried to remove it. I've got a nice
o ring kit that I can usually find a match in for just about anything, but not this time. I'll have to order or go to a hardware store to see if they can match.

I'll probably just order all four sets so I know they're right and do em all since I'm sure the others are in bad shape too.

I bought this 99 in 2010 with only 5,240 miles on it so it sat in this dude's garage in Arizona drying out for 11 years without being ridden.

As always, I appreciate everyone's input.

I've Installed cam chain tensioners in 6 of these bikes, and all were right around 40~45,000 miles on the clock. You might want to remove the cover on one of your tensioners and visually see how you are on the tensioners... just a thought.

They're going to get done. Probably wait until the end of our riding season though. Should be able to squeeze in a few more rides before it gets hot. I usually hang it up around June or so. It's not fun to ride in 100+ degrees and I move to boat and jet skis. Winter in Arizona is awesome for riding (other than the short days). Summer......Not so much.
