Thumbs Up

Got both OEM Firestone Exedras replaced with Avon Cobras today. All I can say is - Wow! The bike feels 500 lbs lighter. It handles great and feels very agile. Great cornering. It handled like a school bus with factory Firestones.
Thank you for advice to purchase Avon tires!

This is an old thread, but last weekend I put on a set of Cobras and they are pretty sweet. I know that a lot of people like their MCIIs, but for whatever reason I wanted to stay with the stock front tire size.

Anyway, I had read this thread a while ago and found it hard to believe that the handling could be better with just a tire choice/design. I have been converted...the bike does indeed handle better with the Cobras (and I had CounterAct beads installed as well). The tires that came off were Pirelli MT66s.

The Cobras were also much better on grooved pavement.

I prefer the Cobra too for the front (DarkSide rear). A couple months ago, I installed a Cobra MT90-16 on the front (same thing as a 130/90-16), and it improved the handling over the 150/80-16, and it has a higher load rating............... I do really like the Cobra's.
