Michelin tires

Another ringing endorsement for the Commander 11's. 27000 miles on the back tire with 4.5mm of tread left. Only a screw stopped it prematurely. Almost exclusive solo riding with psi at 40.

Wow that's a ton of miles on a rear tire. I have about 5000 on my Vaquero that I bought new in February. When I need to replace tires I will go with the Michelin Comanche II's. Seems to be the preference of most riders.

Got that kind of mileage on my 900 with Metzelers, too. My new 2015 Vaquero is a month old and I have 4000 miles. I expect the OEM Bridgestones will be gone before long.

Replacements will be Michelin or Metzeler, for sure.

Thumbs Up

About to replace my rear tire on the Voyager (Comander II). Have about 10,000 miles on it. Been very happy with it, twice the miles I was getting.

That's about the lowest milage I read about for a Commander II. I got 19600 out of mine. But then again, I don't do jack rabbit starts and stops. I deliberately try to get the most milage I can out of my tires.

Wow, 27k out of these tires? I just replaced my rear Michelin and I only had 12k on it. Still it is almost 3x what I got out of the original bridgestone.

Have not wore out a rear Commander II on my Voyager, but with about 14,500 miles, the tire was cupping and started to split in the tread grooves. This tire still had 4/32" of tread left out of 10/32 when new. I did replace it with another Commander II. The air pressure got down to 20lbs psi over the winter and I feel this is what caused the problem with tire. I ride year round, just let it get too low. My fault.
