I received an email from his cousin that set up the go fund me site.

Below is what it said.

This is the latest update from Don's brother David...........It is with heavy heart that I say HE'S GONE.
Doctors told him that his lungs were bad from the accident and that he would have to use a breathing tube the rest of his life.
Also he could not work or ride a bike again.
He said no his decision to remove all life support which they did about 4:00 yesterday he rested all night and passed at 8 00 this morning.
RIDE ON BROTHER.

Don had attended several SouthCentral rallies and was an active member of the VBA.
He was very likeable and fun to be around. We will miss him.

Crystal and I offer our sincere condolences to Don's family and friends.

Very sad. I met Don in Van Buren at the SouthCentral VBA rally held here a few years ago. On the last day, I got to lead him and a couple others to some sites they hadn't seen yet, like the old water wheel up in the NWA area. He loved riding and working on bikes. He will be missed. Prayers to his family and friends.

This sucks. I never had a chance to meet him F2F but I bought his first set of handlebars (other than the set he used on his own custom creation). Bummer.

Wow, I just saw this thread.... So sad. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. I unfortunately didn't know Don. This makes me sick to my stomach. May he rest in peace.

I was talking to a friend yesterday who sold his bike because he said he just couldn't put up with the traffic trying to run him over anymore. He was tired of all the near-accidents every time he rode. It's a shame drivers don't pay attention and will risk everyone's lives around them to save 3 seconds on their trip. I wish we could go out and enjoy a leisurely without having to worry about the inconsideration of others.
