Well I thought you were the one with the July issue?

Ahead (Late July)? or behind (late August)?

Might be kind of fun to run across a few Sturgis attendees on the way home?

We are 350 miles, 5+ hours away from Sturgis and we will be out of Red Lodge on the morning of the 5th. Good enough? This year is the big year (75th Anniversary) right? Maybe reduced attendance in 2016?

Probably pass Sturgis bikes headed the other way.

Sturgis is a whole nother deal. Most bikers going to Sturgis will stick to areas close to the Interstate. Not saying you won't run into a few, but prices in the MT / WY area should be the same as the usual summer rates.

OK, I have be on the road. Eureka Springs was a good get together with lot of folks from both Vulcan groups. Am in Iowa visiting daughter then on to Michigan. Should be back to NC about July 8. I'd come to Cody and maybe if the date is that first week of August I'd even stop for day or two in Sturgis on way home? It is perfect location for my northern route to visit family and friends coming and going and is a location that I haven't spent enough time in so just count me in. Enjoyed seeing you all in Tahoe and will be watching for the details here to do it again!

Late June I wouldn't think would be a bad time for Beartooth Pass as well. Maybe Dave can help us out on that. Plus early August is Sturgis time. People are traveling in and out of that region either on their way to Sturgis or home.
I have lived in mt. or Wyoming for the last 35 years and I'm not aware of a late july/august monsoon season.june can be wet but but not august.hail season here is mostly june.i have worked quite a bit on land developments
in southern Colorado and new mexico where they definitely have a summer monsoon season.i also did a land development outside of redlodge and it only
has two seasons [ august and winter ].

Greg, as a qualifying member of the Various Bagger Association, consider yourself unofficially invited to our unofficial gathering. I know Schoeney is working out details with the Alpine Lodge owner, but I don't think I'm speaking out of line when I say its looking like the first week of August (Sunday night July 31 thru Friday morning August 5). That place looks perfect for our purposes and being able to lock up the entire place for our group makes it even more inviting. In Tahoe we had to kind of close up shop by 11:00 or so or folks would get a little uhhh..... uptight.

I know the area around Red Lodge/Cody can provide lots of great rides and things to do and see. I'm even finding places where you can do half-day trail rides on horseback. That would give the steel horses a needed break and allow us a chance to ride.....shall we say....old school...!

I was talking about more southern Wyoming (Cheyenne area) and south. We have to deal with that weather going thru Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico. They really don't have much of a monsoon season in most of Wyoming but it does occasionally bleed over to your area. Just not as certain as our area.

As Kris said, more than welcome. Maybe you can get Gibby and Ray to come out as well.

I appreciate it Chris. I have been wanting to ride out west (west for me) since I can remember; but have yet to make that happen. Maybe 2016 is the year. Besides it has been since 2009 since I have seen you guys.

Again, thanks Joel. I would like to make it out there this time and that date would likely work best for me also. I'll keep my eye on Greg's progress on solidifying the deal and making it official.

PS: When is someone going to create the Various Baggers Assoc. site?

Ask to have a sub-forum made. I know one Vulcan forum that has a Non-Vulcan Bike Sub-forum.

We talked briefly about a Various bagger site, maybe a sub section is the way to go. Being we all started out here and like the way this forum operates.

Jim, any idea what adding a sub section involves?

Greg W, If this shakes out we'd love for you guys to come. Red Lodge / Cody is a great area.
