No - at least that's not the whole story by a long shot......
The problem with the 1500/1600 is the air comes through a tunnel from the opposite side of the motor, in between the jugs where it gets warmed up, restricted, and has to change directions before entering the throttle bodies under the righthand dogbowl which is just a cosmetic cover not the real intake. The fix is to bypass all that plumbing and make the air enter directly from the right side - turning it from a dummy cover into an actual intake. Right now there isn't even a filter under that right bowl. Did you already know that?

Some time ago, when the forum was new there was someone who drilled holes in the bottom of one of the bowls in a pattern of sorts. I don't know what the results were, or even which one he drilled. But, as stated, not that simple. Go ahead.......do the modification. It only hurts the first time. Then you're hooked, and you'll do anything for that next mod.

I have the Hypercharger on the right side with KN filter and an empty dog bowl on the left side.
And still no fuel processor......go figure!

I started out with the resistor in the temp sensor signal wire trying to eliminate a warm weather ping, and it cascaded from there. I debaffed the pipes (baffle out, holes in the outer ring), blocked off the left side intake but left the dog bowl in place, remove the right side dog bowl, disable the air injectors, added a Spectre air filter, and installed a Dobeck unit. Greatly improved throttle response, sound and fun! Now I'm adding the cam chain tensioner extenders, have the rear done so far. It's like all vices, at first a little is enough, then the next thing you know...

You'd have much better luck relocating your filter to the right side using one of Chuckster's kits, or one of the other versions of "homemade" DIY kits that can be found on here. You'll have much better luck with that. I tried one of the DIY kits, then gave up and ordered Chuckster's kit. It was a cinch to install and made a world of difference!

Want more air into the engine?
Orrrrrr, you could put a small turbo on and get all the air the engine can stand.

Don't forget what goes in has to have a way out of the engine. Intake upgrade = exhaust upgrade = fuel processor to keep the thing from being to lean.
