Once was enough I thought you doubled back so you could ride it a second time

I feel similar about group riding, but I agree with riding on roads like that. Best to go where there isn't a lot of congestion and insanity.

It is a long way around if you don't double back.

While I don't necessarily disagree with Bud or condone crazy riding, I will point out that if you are going to ride the dragon you know ahead of time pretty much what to expect concerning car, bike and even accidental truck traffic. It's a bucket list thing for many and if by chance you missed all the hype, the tree of shame should have been a clue.

He didn't get to the end and double back, he rode it on the way to the motel then got "turned around" and ended up back at the Dragon.
Sorry Bud, you know I have to bring this up

So why didn't he stop one of the bikes and ask for directions ?

Just jerking your chain bud.
We rode it on the day of the big storm that came late in the day.
Got to the end and heard the storm was coming in and asked Ross the quickest way back to the motel? Back through the Dragon of course and we still didn't get back to the hotel before all hell broke loose from the sky.

Why do people feel the need to belong to group's/gang's/club's, that insist on having a pecking order anyway ? Ride alone, none of this, i'm in charge, keep inline, you do as you're told bullshit

It's not even or only that. Many times the groups get way too big and it becomes an accordion of frustration. Then there are the frequent stops because someone has a sportster with the peanut tank.

I'd expect nothing less Tim. I rode into the twilight zone that day. Still don't know how I got there or how I got out but it was an adventure.

Next time end it with a "DAMN IT" for a driving it home effect.
Just a suggestion.

I have never been impressed by riders (or dirvers) who place others in danger. Not impressed.

Embarrassed to say, but they sounded English, and probably doing what a lot of bloke's dream of, going to America and riding a Harley across the country, and you can see the way matey boy just flop's it over, that he has never ridden one before, and that he should have had some form of tuition on a heavy cruiser before he was let loose on you poor bugger's. Please accept my apologies for my countrymen's ineptitude Having said all that, ive flopped mine a couple of time's too
