Good video. Looks lke you guys had the road to yourself. Now you have NY, VT, NH, CT, RI, and MA. You need to get ME in to complete the Northeast. Maybe after you get the RDL on the bike.

Great video Martin. The whole ride was like that Neil. Wide open turns and twists no traffic. We hit it at the right time well except for this sunday driver going though the Mohawk forest but they decided to pull off and let us ass. That was very nice of them.

Glad you chose that part of the ride to post Martin. Rt.2 from Williamstown into NY was the best part of the ride.

I'm thinking about the Adirondacks also. Laura put it in my head.

After the upcoming ride to Sweet Evalina's Martin only gets 1 more good ride in before his surgery if the weather cooperates.

If you want some great views and good riding in that lower Vermont area you should look at Hogback Mountain. There is a scenic overlook up there. Was up there a couple of years ago on a charity ride.

That would be a nice multi-day ride.

We were just about there but took RT 100 down to 112 and back into Mass.

I actually mapped out a rout. It's about 600 miles r/t one night right? I don't think there is enough time for you Martin with your surgery coming up and the recoup time. There is a ferry that goes from Essex NY to Burlington VT across lake Champlain. It closes for the season Sept, 28th though. If you don't take the ferry you have to go down along lake George and then essentially go home the same way we did last week. It sits in the back of my mind for mid Oct. very tempting.

Here is a schedule for the ferry from Essex, NY. to Charlotte, VT.
http://www.ferries.com/crossing-sche...to-essex-ferry

The Fort Ticonderoga ferry is south of the Essex and Charlotte crossing.

Hope this is of some help.

Thank you for that info Loafer. Looks like a lot of possibilities. A quick google maps looks like 347 going and 210 coming home though Vt. using the Essex ferry. 1 hr. less each way using the Ticonderoga ferry and keeping the ride to the lower part of the mountains.
