PhatRisers or PhatRisers II?
I feel that I could benefit from a set of risers on my bike. I am just not sure if I should go with the PhatRisers 1x (2-inch rise and 2-inch pull) or PhatRisers II (2.5-inch rise and 3-inch pull). According to the Scootworks website and certain reviews, Phats II may require the break cables to be re-routed and in some cases the tops of the risers hit the speedo housing.
Is there anyone here running either of the two riser types? What do you like/dislike about them? Did you have any problems installing them? Thank you

I had the Phat II's on my 2008 1600 Nomad. They were the bomb. The more pullback the less reaching you have to do....equals the more comfy you are....equals the longer you can ride...! All the stock cables worked just fine and the risers never touched the speedo nacelle. Just make sure you use the offset bolt hole in the bottom of the risers...not the one in the center.

Phat II's on my 07. Perfect fit, even with the fairing and a different set of handle bars. They are a little higher, but a bit narrower compared to stock, so the net result for the cables is pretty much the same. My clutch Hose is snug, but not too tight.
The Phat II risers will give you all the pull-back you'll probably need. And they look great.

Thank you. I think I will go with Phat II's then.

I have the Phat II 5.5" with 2" pull back, I did not have any trouble installing them, however I DID have to splice all of my wires and reroute my clutch cable and replace my front brake line due to the fact I went with 12" apes along with the risers. Might I add that these are the only risers I found to work on the Nomad due to the fuel cell located on top of the tank.

Congrads on the purchase Martin. I bought chucksters last year. Took me a little while to get use to them. First time out I found it harder to do tight turns and wanted to cut them down a bit. I stayed with it practicing those turns and now I'm very comfortable with them. No upper arm and shoulder pain anymore. You really need to customize motorcycles for your personal comfort.

I just put some on last week, the phat 2's that is. Loving how I am in more of a sitting position rather than leaning forward. My brake line is a bit taught but nothing bad. I had to not use one of the cable guides on the right side. Other than that, install went quick and smooth. They look greta! Also put on some Avon grips I purchased from Racnray with his mod, love the throttle response now! Those were my 2 birthday gifts :)

I've had the Phat II's on my 1500 Classic and my 1600 Nomad, never had to re-route cables and it's a much more comfy ride.

I fitted the Phats 1x certainly an improvement over stock and while there fine for me I'm still curious as to whether the Phat II would've been better, may order them to experiment with the 2 different types one day.

I installed the risers this morning. I plan on taking my bike for a test ride later today. I hope they are all that I think they are and make my ride more comfortable.

Between them and the RDL you'll be all set.

With the risers on the bike feels like a completely different bike. I will probably still have to tweak the angle of the handlebars but so far I really like it.
