inexpensive ape hanger option

just got a set of cheap apes. I am very happy with the quality. have not done the internal wiring yet wanted to try then and see if there where any space problem with the stock brake line. going to replace with braided line and throttle cables

usa-biker.com

I got the tc3-2 in 10.5 height but they have a few different styles.

Nice looking setup you have there. I installed a cheap set of 13" bars that I got off E-bay. Probably some of the best money spent. The ride is more relaxing now.

I also just picked up a set of apes. Tried every position with the stockers and different risers, but can't seem to get rid of the pain in my neck.. .... From riding that is.

Oh, and those look nice on there, especially with the mirrors you have.

132 for 1 1/4 bars is the cheapest I've seen. What is the weld/joint quality?

I'm glad they come pre wired too... fishing wires through those corners would be hell! Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

weld quality is better then expected. not perfect but not even close to junk. thick welds so a bit thick at the taper. but not noticeable at all once the controls are mounted. it's not show quality but I''m not putting it on a show bike. went riding last night and the bars are very solid, no give at all.

Looks good, dude, but how do you pull internal wires thru 90 degree bends?

Same here. Took risers and 3 sets of bars to get rid of the pain across the top of my shoulders when riding. Ended up with some Flanders UltraGlide +2 bars. 9 inch rise and 15 inch pull back. Got 'em on Ebay for 1/2 price!
Good 'ol Ebay...what we would we do with out it.

I use a vacuum cleaner, tape to seal off other holes and 75 test monofiliment, some healthy swearing too, and last a bit of fuzz might be paper towel or a bobbin for sewing with a felt wrap depending on the tubing.

The bars look nice congrats.. As for wiring like Bill said a easy way is to tape off all hole except the 1 you want the wires to come out. Instead I use yarn instead of mono like Bill use stick in the yarn or mono insert on open end and suck away :) or blow through the hole with the yarn.

Electricians use this method to pull wires thru long conduit runs. They first use a vacuum cleaner to suck a small piece of foam tied to nylon pull string
thru the conduit then use the string to pull the wires thru. I suppose you could use an air compressor to blow the foam/string thru.

I know you mentioned replacing cables. Are the stock ones too tight now? Would you be able to go with a taller bar? I was looking at the 11.5s myself. Most everyone says an 11" tall bar is about as tall as you can go on stock cables. Your thoughts having done it?

The stock brake line is at it's limit.

these are listed as 10.5" but I measured them at 11".

my clutch is already SS and it came just a bit longer. throttle cables have bit of room. I could ride it as is. but I want the SS look so I am going to replace all the brake lines throttle cables and speedometer cable.

Did you have to get longer cables and lines to make that change?

While I was looking at the Bars I ran across these:
http://usa-biker.com/product/bagger-...iberglass-new/

Note they are labeled YAMAHA....but other then possible mounting hole issues would these be an option for the Nomad 1600's? They have several flavors under Yamaha.

What caught my eye is the price tag.
Some of which are out of stock however
