The shield is a bit narrow for my taste and those bags are tiny compared to the Nad but the LT comes with a 2 year warranty where the Classic just has a year.

I have already put a 2 into 1 on it along with Mustang Seat,Cobra Fatty crash bars, Kaw luggage rack, Kaw lowers and as soon as the little brown truck gets here I will add Barron's tack,Kury hwy pegs,Iso grips & a trailer hitch.

The 2000 and the Nomad IMO aren't even in the same class on the hwy but the Nad is a bit better in town but for me the difference in power makes up for it.
I pull a trailer 2 up a bunch and I just felt the 2000 with all that torque would better served my needs + It gets better fuel millage than the Nad.

A buddy of mine bought a 2000 when they 1st come out in 04 and after ridding his I told him if Kaw ever made a 2000cc Nomad I would have to have one and I don't think they will so the LT maybe as close as there going to get.

I saw a photo on the net the other day of a 2000 with Nomad bags and Harley trunk and fairing that was painted like the green 99 Nomads were and that thing looked damn good but I cant find the photo now,has anyone seen it ? Where was it at?

There ya go... thats what I needed was some justification to trade to the 2000. I just didnt like my choices for going on long trips for carrying all my shtuff... but if I get a trailer.... Oh yes. Takes carre of the cargo problem AND justifies a need for more hp. Time to talk numbers with the Kaw dealer.

That is the same guy. Maybe that was not the right link.Try this one. http://www.rolfshemsida.se/blandat.htm He is a member on delphi. He made the bags himself. They are nomad bags he widen them about 2 inches or so . He has a good write up of what he did on his web site. Ithink he has a link on there.

He didn't widen them, he actually formed new ones based on the nomads. I think they are more than 2" wider, but he did fab them from scratch, as he did the trunk and trailer. This wasn't a bolt on job.
