Why do you have a problem with handicap people out enjoying life?
I've got a handicap plate on my Ultra. When I lost my leg, I had a choice, quit my job, go on SSDI and sit around cry, "oh poor me, oh poor me!" Or, should I just man-up, deal with it, get a prosthetic leg, continue working instead of becomiong a burden on others and continue riding motorcycles. I choose the latter. Please explain to me why you think a handicap person should not be out riding a motorcycle. You touched a nerve with me, Jacky, with this asinine post! |

I have to agree with Dave. I hope your, really???, means your impressed. Having a handicap doesn't mean some can't do something, just that they may have to do it in a slightly different way.

Okay, we could be mean and wonder about a post conveying shock (?) over a handicap motorcycle plate, but the poster couldn't rotate the picture ...
but that would be mean! I confess however, that I have never seen a motorcycle handicap plate, wasn't sure if there was such a thing. Now I know! As far as someone with a defined handicap riding, so long as you can ride safely, who cares, you're RIDING!

I've seen a number of motorcycles with handicap plates. Get over it.

Don't know if any of the above was directed to my comment ( ). What I was saying, with symbols, is "I don't understand". I did not understand what the post was about. I thought it had something to do with the vanity plates.

My understanding of a handicap plate is , it is for people who have a dissability that renders them unable to function as a healthy person.
So my question is, what conditions would be sever enough for a person to not function as a healthy person but still be able to ride a two wheeled motorcycle? Not being a wise ass, just curious.

I had a college professor that was diabetic, which caused issues with her legs. She could get around just fine, but with a flare-up, she couldn't walk very far without intense pain. The plate was so she wouldn't get stuck on the far end of a Wally-world parking lot, having to hike in a half-mile to get whatever. She could certainly have rode a bike with no issues, and besides, she was a great lady!

P14C? It might just be a randomly generated plate number.

Geez did I stir up a hornets nest or what?
I guess I should have commented more. This is "really" as in, is this for real. I've never seen a handicap motorcycle license plate before. I didn't know they were available. For those of you that got your noses all bent out of shape, BITE ME. After 25 years as a paramedic/firefighter and RN I'm the last person to criticize anyone's ability. So get off your high horse, quit assuming the worst of people and again I say bite me.
