WoLo Bad Boy Horn

Getting ready to install the WoLo Bad Boy Chrome horn. I fabricated a new mounting bracket.
Thought it would be interesting to check the current draw between the stock Nomad horn and the Wolo horn.

Factory horn draws 3.3 amps, I connected the WoLo and it is defective, doesn't honk just a loud buzzing sound and draws 19.5 amps.

I'm returning and and will check the new one when I get it from Amazon and will report back.

Bob

I'm really hoping that you are running the power via a relay. That switch will burn out quick if wired direct.

Yes using a relay.

Did you reverse the leads from the old horn. Had the same problem and changed the wiring around and it works fine

It took me a while as I had a few beers to finally get the right combination.

That was it, had the wires reversed. Damn that thing is loud....

Connected with the polarity correct it draws 15.5 amps.

A friend of mine has the same horn on his Harley just connected to his horn wires no relay .....what keeps his horn button from burning out is beyond me.

That is correct. That's why using a relay in the circuit is so important.

I made the bracket but haven't mounted it yet.
When I do I'll put up some photos.

I had some aluminum angle in the basement so made a bracket from a 4 inch piece of it. Painted black. I used a rubber grommet over the bolt between the horn and the angle to dampen vibrations.
It sticks out about 2 inches further than the stock horn. I think it will be OK but if it bothers me when I shift I'll make another bracket and move it in some.

Looks good. Some guys turn the original bracket around and make it work somehow. I have a new Stebel horn, and I'm going to try that.
