Is there a Nomad Toe shifter (no heel)?

Heel/toe shifter is one piece. I've never had a heel/toe shifter before and have kicked it into 2nd by accident a couple times already and I like being able to slide my foot to the back of the board like the right side. Would prefer a standard non-heel shifter if anyone knows of one. And no, I'd prefer not cutting the heel part off. When it comes time to sell the bike I'd like to be able to put it back to stock and I think most cruiser types go for a heel/toe anyway. It's just not me. And the stock shifter goes for about $100 give or take.

Keep watchin Ebay for salvage yards parting out a Nomad and then email them and ask about a shifter.
You can probably find one reasonably priced and cut that one.

These are your choices, cut off the shifter you have now, or buy a spare and cut one or the other. The heel shifter is nice, give it some more time.

You may want to see if a 1600 will fit, I believe they were two piece.

I have a 2001 nomad 1500. It has the heel/toe but its two pieces. I removed the heel shifter on mine for the same reason. I have size 12s and they just don't fit between the front and back shifters so well. It's not like I'm up shifting all that much around town anyway. 2nd gear has quite a range.

If your interested in a "standard" toe shift, you could do a little research on what fits and get a part from a different model. It doesn't even "have to be" Kawasaki as long as it fits.

BTW, I have some Harley Davidson parts on my Nomad. They still work.

You can adjust the heel shifter so it is lower than the floorboard and then just not use it.
I had problems using it at first, but now I wouldn't go without it.

Cut it off in a clean way and the next owner wont even know what he's missing.

The big feet are no excuse. I've worn sz 14 since the eighth grade, and I love the heel-toe shifters. The '05 Nomad was my first, but once I got used to it, I can't imagine a ride without it. I haven't torn up a boot toe since!

My 2008 has a 2 piece toe and heel shifter.

I was not in the habit of using the heel shifter until recently. I had the bike in the shop to replace the clutch pushrod seal and when the technician reassembled it he set the heel shifter higher than it had been and the toe shifter lower. As I left the dealership I realized that the toe shifter was too low for me to get the toe of my boot under it, so I was forced to use the heel shifter to get the bike home.

To me, it wasn't a big deal and I thought that I'd readjust the toe shifter later as a winter project. Well a couple of weeks went by and although I haven't ridden it much I have adapted to using the heel shifter and have to admit I rather like it. Maybe its my imagination but upshifts seem to feel smoother as maybe I am able to apply more pressure with the heel than I can upshifting with the toe.

Yep, what Jay said. Size 14's here also. I like the heal shifter because it gives a positive up shift to the next gear. These bikes need a positive shift. A toe shifter will work but you have to make sure to always pay attention and shift up hard. A missed gear can bend shift forks.

Pretty much what everyone one else said. My previous bike had a heel toe shifter, and I never used it. As a matter of fact I think I had one on a bike way way back and cut it off. When I bought my 2008, the toe was adjusted too low and the sales man said "and we are not adjusting for you, get used to heel shifting it. The bike will shift better and you will come to prefer it" He was definitely right, I would not go back to toe shifting the Nomad.
