Irate replacen my clutch

What a nightmare, in the middle of replacen my clutch in my 1500 and to me its a nightmare, wasn't planen on haven to take all this stuff on the right side off but what an experance, my 800 wasn't this big of a job so I thought I'd do it myself and I'am starten to figure out why the mechanics charge so much, if I had a place to do it it had been a better experance but doing it in the floor of my trailor just isn't a good place to tareone down like this. Just wish me luck that I'll remember how to put this thing back together right.

You think that was fun, try replacing one on a Harley.

I replaced the clutch spring in my 1600 and it wasn't very difficult. The worst part was scraping the old gasket material off the side cover.

Do you have a service manual or the instructions from Gadget's Fixit Page? I think I used the info from Gadget and it was very straightforward.

I didn't find it very hard to do either, make sure you have a good impact gun to remove the large nut on the clutch, that will be the hard part if you don't have one available.
The rest is easy.

clutch spring

I keep reading about the clutch spring in this forum. I have no issues with my 2002 and it has 45k miles on it. What signs do I need to be looking for? Also i have not had any issues or noticed that I have issues with the cam chain tensioners. Just getting a little paranoid reading everyone else's issues....
thx

Pretty sure you will notice the clutch slipping when it starts happening. Usually in 4th or 5th you will notice as you dial on the throttle your speed does not increase but the rpm does.

If you follow the instructions on Gadgets Fixit, they make it pretty straight forward to do.
